2002-2003 History
ASWSU-DDP Goals & Objectives
- Work on recruitment and outreach to see the program grow.
- Explore ways to welcome new students, to develop school spirit.
- Open discussion regarding deadlines for DDP students, specifically completion deadlines for flex classes.
- Learn to participate more fully in online groups.
- Develop better problem solving skills.
- To assure effective communications at all levels that I can influence. I want to keep communications open and people informed.
- To support the officers and help them with their goals and objectives this means being communicative, supportive, and helping when I have the required abilities. Or I will help find the resources for achieving their goals.
- To promote participation in A-DDP through its committees and by promoting running for office. I believe this will involve promoting the importance and the accomplishments of A-DDP to the DDP students.
- To promote the use of the online library. This can include training for its use or just making sure people are aware of it. This underused system can provide much valuable information to the DDP student.
- To find ways to serve the DDP student through the A-DDP. This goal will be measured by increased communication between A-DDP and DDP students.
- Expand on (or create where needed) training programs and tutorials for all online course platforms such as the WebCT and Bridge.
- Creating an online chatroom for students of WSU’s DDP program; perhaps called "Student Lounge".
- Keep students more aware of what's happening with their University and education. Perhaps increasing the number of newspapers or news articles that are sent out to student annually. Creating more diverse articles that appeal to the student body.
- Evaluating how professors and TA’s are interacting with students and working towards creating a more open environment between Professor and student.
- Getting students more involved in their DDP experience. Perhaps we can create a group that is designated to help those students get their feet wet when first getting involved with distant learning.
