Supplemental S&A Fees Committee Meeting (Applicant Orientation Meeting)

October 8 5:30-6:30pm

The term "services and activities fees" or "S&A fees" is defined to mean fees, other than tuition fees, charged to all students registering at a WSU campus. S&A fees are used to fund student activities and programs, student buildings, and similar uses. S&A fees are charged to all students registering at a campus or the Distance Degree Program.

A S&A Fees Committee is established for the Pullman campus, for the Spokane campus, for the Tri-Cities campus, for the Vancouver campus and for the Distance Degree Program. Each S&A Fee Committee shall invite representatives of programs that benefit students to present a budget request for the following year. After review of the requests, the S&A fee Committee discusses the merits of each request and develops an allocation plan that divides the estimated revenue among the various programs. The S&A Fee Committees is then responsible for recommending to the University President and the Board of Regents how estimated S&A fee revenue shall be allocated.

If you are interested in presenting a supplementary budget request to the S&A fee committee for the 2009-2010 academic year, please review the application packet and timeline. Make sure you notify Christina Sturman of your intentions by October 7 at 4pm if you wish to do so.

The S&A Fee Committee holds supplemental hearings when there is a significant change in a group that needs to be addressed. With the closing of the Learning Centers the committee uses supplemental hearings to determine the future use of these funds.

The applicant Orientation meeting will be held in Saba Centra Meeting Space, October 8 from 5:30-6:30 pm http://mt201.centra.com/GA/main/00000059c8b500000123effce4598b96

Make sure all of your materials are submitted by the deadline or your request will not be considered.
